Carlos Howard

    Mr. Howard is a 7th Degree Black Belt and is now the current owner and Head Instructor of Sam Chapman's American Karate. He first began training at the age of seven in one of the first kids classes that Sam Chapman started.

    He has won over one hundred awards in weapons, forms, and fighting. He was State Champion several times on The South Carolina Karate Circuit, The Brockman Suzuki Karate Circuit, and The Foothills Karate Circuit where he was honored as Champion of the Year. Other major awards have come from The Battle of Atlanta and recognition from the National Black Belt League (NBL).

    He is a graduate of Carolina High School where he was a member of the 1985 football team that went to the Upstate Playoffs. He received honorable mention from Greenville County Coaches as a running back. He was also lettered in wrestling and was captain of the track team.

    In 1991 he received his BS Degree in physical education and a minor in psychology from Gardner Webb University. There he lettered in football four years and was awarded Most Dependable from the coaching staff.
